We are looking for an exceptional candidate to become our Events and Development Manager at Labour Together. Your organisational and administrative talents will directly support our events programme.
The Role
Our Events and Development Manager will play a central role in shaping our event strategy, engaging stakeholders, expanding our supporter base, and leading a diverse range of events for our various audiences. This role is a unique opportunity to lead our vibrant and high-profile events programme, in support of our wider organisational objectives. The post holder will understand how to develop and deliver events that are geared towards furthering Labour Together's strategic agenda and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to achieve this.
We are looking for a talented individual with a background in multistakeholder event management, ideally gained within the government, think tank, corporate or the not-for-profit sectors. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, and expertise in relationship management. You will also bring exceptional organisational capabilities and experience in strategic planning along with a highly collaborative style.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the end-to-end planning, delivery, and evaluation of events, with ownership of timelines, budgets, logistics, and risk management (including venues, catering, AV, accessibility, and security considerations)
Lead and oversee event communications, including drafting and approving invitations, managing guest lists and RSVPs, tracking attendance, and post-event follow-up
Commission and manage external suppliers and partners, including, venues, caterers, AV providers, and merchandise suppliers
Prepare and quality-assure high-level briefing materials for all events, coordinating closely with senior stakeholders to finalise agendas, discussion questions, and speaker notes
Act as the primary point of contact for speakers, VIPs, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring a high-quality experience throughout
Provide on-the-day event leadership, including overseeing set-up, managing staff and, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth delivery
Contribute to wider development and fundraising objectives through events, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement
Skills Required
Proven experience leading and delivering high-quality events, with demonstrable responsibility for complex logistics and multiple stakeholders
Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with confidence working with senior stakeholders and external partners
Strategic, proactive, and solutions-focused, with strong judgement and decision-making skills
Meticulous attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger picture
Experience managing suppliers, budgets, and contracts
Experience working in politics, Parliament, public affairs, or a related environment is welcome but not essential
