Labour Together is a think tank working at the heart of British politics to support the Labour movement with research, strategy, and policy development. We work closely with policymakers, parliamentarians, and political leaders to help Labour govern and win again.
The Role
We're seeking a talented Digital Communications Manager to lead our visual content strategy and production. Reporting into the Head of Communications, this is a varied role that sits at the intersection of creative production and digital communications, requiring someone who can both create compelling content and manage social media channels strategically.
Responsibilities
Film and record high-quality video content at events, interviews, and other Labour Together activities
Edit footage into polished final products for various platforms and purposes
Manage and grow social media channels (Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube)
Create short-form video content optimised for social media (Reels, Shorts, TikToks)
Monitor broadcast media and clip relevant interviews and appearances for digital distribution
Develop and execute a content calendar aligned with our research outputs and political calendar
Collaborate with researchers, policy experts and politicians to translate complex ideas into compelling visual stories
Track analytics and adjust content strategy based on performance data
Maintain and organise our digital asset library
Stay current with platform changes, trends, and best practices in political digital communications
Essential Skills Required
Demonstrated experience in video production, including filming and editing
Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
Strong understanding of social media platforms and their specific content requirements
Experience creating short-form video content optimised for social media engagement
Ability to work quickly and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced political environment
Strong editorial judgment and news sense
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Understanding of UK politics and the ability to identify compelling political narratives
Strong written communication skills for captions, posts, and basic content writing
Desirable Skills
Experience with motion graphics and animation (After Effects or similar)
Experience working in political communications, campaigns, or think tanks
Knowledge of social media management and scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.)
Experience with live streaming and broadcast technologies
Audio editing and podcast production experience
Understanding of SEO and YouTube optimisation
Experience with content management systems and basic web publishing
